Gubi, a danish company, was founded in 1967 by architects Gubi and Lisbeth Olsen. The company's intentwas always to create a collection of furniture re-designing pieces of design history from the 30's to today redesigned by contemporary design masterpieces.
In the collection you can find both past and new ideas and inspirations created by creative collaborations with emerging designers who strive to combine form and function.
Gubi presents to the public new design patterns that are sometimes risky to both the designer and to be understood and appreciated by the customer.
A case in point is the Gubi Chair created in conjunction with Komplot Design. It was the first 3D veneer chair ever made. Every effort and risk was then rewarded by the numerous awards and the great recognition of MoMa who wanted to include it in his collection.
