Design Republic was born from an idea of the Mornata family, established furniture retailers in Milan, which in 2015 decided to take on a new challenge: renovate the historic shop in Corso di Porta Ticinese, as long as a new online platform, making the selection of products available to customers all around the world. About Design and how we want to present it to our customers, we have developed our philosophy over time, linked to our identity.
Focus of Design Republic has always been the New Scandinavian taste, represented by well-known brands such as HAY, Muuto, Normann, Gubi and Play Type just to name some. To that we also added the original selection of products of Italian brands in line with the Nordic mood, such as Gervasoni, Zanotta and Campeggi. The format of our brand is to represent a young and modern style, immediately recognizable by our customers. For this reason we try to keep our style (both in store and online) simple, clear and immediate, selecting the best of Nordic Design.
Design Republic, in both its shapes, wants to be close to the customer, aiming at a consultancy, design and support service also for the contract sector. We propose ourselves as a platform where it is possible to buy furniture and design complements, while our stores also become an exhibition center, where customers can go to see and try the products they find for sale on the web site.
An important point of our journey, after the opening of the second store in 2017 was the achievement of a goal on which we worked quite a lot: at the end of 2018 we in fact expanded one of the stores dedicating the entire exhibition to the Danish Brand HAY, becoming first partner in Italy of the brand. The next steps? Certainly grow again and expand our furniture collection.
