The Steelwood family by Magis is a reaction to the massive use of plastic materials into the production of forniture. From this premise, the French duo of designer Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec have tried to design something totally new. As the name already reveals, two different materials compose the Steelwood Shelving System: wood and steel. Beech wood is used for the frame, while steel is used for the seat.
Magis is a historic Italian company founded in 1976 by Eugenio Perazza. Magis looks like as a great laboratory for cutting-edge design and experimentation, able to detect the creativity of the international and emerging designers, markets, and direct it to objects that set trends.
