Decorative sculpture in metal mesh painted in epoxy resin and supplied with hook for ceiling fixing.
Birds and Cloud dangle on a thread, they play with the air and light, telling stories that are always different.
These hanging sculptures designed by Benedetta Mori Ubaldini were presented by Magis at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile 2012 in Milan.
Part of the Me Too Collection for children, the stylishly molded pieces made of chicken wire create the shapes of Birds and Clouds.
While their frame would normally be hidden away as the basic framework inside sculptures, the designer Ubaldini interpreted the raw aesthetic in a white finish as the finil product.
The starting point was the desire and the vision to fill large spaces with a symbolic and poetic narrative of mine.
“Clouds and Birds are the result of this vision: sculptures in metal mesh without internal structure, where the play between presence and absence becomes the poetic element of the work.
The metal mesh, which is usually a hidden material used only as internal frame for sculptures, finds in these objects its own beauty and transforms into figures and objects of a poetic world.”
Magis turns these handmade sculptures into extraordinary oblects producted for its Me Too Collection.
