BROBERG & RIDDERSTRÅLE ON THE DESIGN "Leaf successfully combines a light and elegant design with an energy-efficient LED technology. Though the design is minimalistic and straightforward, a soft asymmetric geometry gives the lamp an organic and friendly appearance. - Depending on the viewing angle and how the shade is turned, the lamp will subtly transform its shape to create a graphic and leaf-like silhouette in the room."

BROBERG & RIDDERSTRÅLE are Swedish design and architectural partners. Their work combines an aesthetic rationality with a touch of humour and wit. Mats Broberg and Johan Ridderstråle have both graduated from Konstfack University of design with honours and have been awarded the Swedish Art Council’s working grant. BROBERG & RIDDERSTRÅLE ON THEIR DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
Inspiration is the first and most important key you are looking for when designing a new object. Without this first hand vision the designer is often lost in shapes and forms that lack of soul and meaning However, the source of inspiration and how you use it is never certain. This is the beauty of design to us. Never knowing when or where your next project will begin. You just have to keep your eyes open.

BROBERG & RIDDERSTRÅLE ON NEW NORDIC DESIGN
In content I would say that Scandinavian design is still very honest and clear and in that sence true to it´s heritage. But since we are living in a global society with its pros and cons I think it would be rash to argue that the Nordic countries have a unified design approach. New Nordic, to us, is more of a ongoing progressive search for new answers and solutions regarding our daily life rather than a definition of style and tradition.
